How our professional supervision sessions work
Delivered online, across Australia & New Zealand
We offer individual supervision sessions as well as group sessions for up to six OTs. Sessions are held via Zoom and run for one hour, at a frequency of your choice. Supervisees can also connect with us between sessions to share your insights and wins, as well as quick clinical debriefs.
Structured & supervisee-driven
Our supervisors predominately draw on the Model of Occupational Wholeness to frame supervision, as well as referencing to the 4x4x4 Model of Supervision and Kolbs Experiential Learning Cycle. Our sessions are supervisee-driven and structured using online agendas, action plans and record templates.
Fully documented
Supervisees are expected to make detailed notes during or after their session, which are reviewed and signed by their supervisor as evidence for their continuing professional development log. We can also align professional supervision with internal staff development plans.
A Person-centred approach to professional supervision
Our approach is influenced by our experience that people feel integrated, fulfilled and whole when what they do meets their needs for being, becoming and belonging (as defined in the Model of Occupational Wholeness).
Professional supervision at Be You therefore aims to nurture occupational therapists in your being, becoming, belonging and doing.
BEING
Being incorporates self-awareness, reflective capacity and identity. We create a sanctum in supervision for occupational therapists to safely explore your identity, values, beliefs, strengths, skills, areas for exploration and growth, passions and desires.
BECOMING
Becoming refers to ongoing development, clinical competency and the cultivation of self. We support occupational therapists to identify and pursue your clinical interests and learning priorities in a way that promotes fulfilment.
BELONGING
Belonging emphasises the importance of feeling connected within the supervisory relationship, within the work environment and within the profession. We foster the occupational therapist's sense of belonging to promote your growth, connection and collaboration.
DOING
Doing refers to the application of knowledge and skill in clinical practice. We support occupational therapists to cultivate your clinical competency and the way you embody your role.
